Internal Soundtrack

September 30th, 2011 + 7:09 PM  ·  Dark

I haven't uploaded anything for you guys in a while. I've been in a musical rut recently and band amp = the end of musical writes block, right? Lately, I haven't been able to improvise as well musically or lyrically and I haven't discovered why. I am stuck in this four chord progression "Am, F, C, G." And I obsess about it constantly.  So I just walk around with this in my head and I'm trying to figure out how to turn it into a song. People and situations inspire me differently and this is an incarnation of the song that struck me as particularly powerful.

Edit: Seems like that first note is off a beat, oh wells.

Angel: Cheer The ---- Up!

November 22nd, 2008 + 6:11 PM  ·  Dark

This is a quick fusion of a rhythm piece (dogmatic) that I wrote to so you guys could hear my les paul and never got around to tossing any lyrics or lead to it. And then my friend had a bad day, so I wrote them a cheer the fuck up song.

Because the lyrics are 100% improvised (as per usual) and I only did on vocals take it might be a little sketchy. But meh, I don't sing well regardless.

Lyrics:
"I know this girl NAMED way, way too pretty
A frown on her face that I never want see,
She was so so so unhappy the other night
It was nothing to do with me

(music)

Her days should be a rain of roses
without the thorns
her house should be infested with icecream smiles
and miniture pink unicorns

this is the cheer the fuck up song
Angels can do no wrong

la la la la la, la la la la
la la la, lalala
la la la la laaaaaaaaa

She is a road with lots of turns
and sunshine without the burns
she is so sweet its kind of trippy
like maple syrup without the sticky

I hope I can make sure that she is never upset,
because she's a mixture of dawn and the sunset

(change in the chord progression)

This is part of the song where
we slowly fade out."

So Blue 2

August 20th, 2008 + 11:08 PM  ·  Dark

I am very happy with my update. Mostly because this isn’t an example to show the difference between rhythm and lead guitars: while the former is.

Original song and lyrics here:
http://forum.bandamp.com/Audio_Review/5371.html

Gonna get with my guitar,
Gonna play a little for you.

(burst lick)

Prally play a little blues,
Maybe sing a little too.

(burst lick)

Everytime I try to sing, I find that I can never bring
The right notes to the scene, do you know what I mean?

(burst lick)

I try to touch your heart, now my fingers turn black and blue.

(lick)

I think I have frost bite can you please tell me what to do.

(burst lick)

Gonna get with my guitar,
Touch the string just like a star…
For you.

(solo: burst lick)

What is it that I will have to do,
To prove my love, my love for you.

Your eyes are so pretty, but you’re still saying no.
You’re giving me this look like I should just go.

(sick blues riff)

Everytime you smile at me, I feel a little blue,
The refrigerator light of your heart is shining through.

I used to see you as a statue made of gold,
I guess I was right, you’re expensive and cold.

(sick blues riff)

Your eyes are so pretty but you’re still saying no,
You’re giving me this look like I should just go-

Fuck myself?

No, fuck you.

Again.
